COUGH COUGH AND COUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeap it is the month of August here and guess what! I HATE THE HAZE!!! Because I hate it so much, I've decided to show some graphical prove of just how bad it has become!

Lets start with the weather about a month ago.

Taken at 27th July 2005 at Ampang Park KL

27th July 2005, KL Sentral, Brickfields, KL

At that very moment, I was enjoying my little ride to college and back. Both pictures taken around 6pm in the afternoon. But then, less than a month after those lovely sunshine and humidity, here goes,

Oh my goodness, is this what we must live with? Other people's work? I browsed through some news network for news about this haze;
Haze-hit Malaysia registers unhealthy air quality in eight areas

KUALA LUMPUR-ASTANA. August 10. KAZINFORM. - Malaysia, currently hit by haze due to
forest fires in neighbouring Sumatera Indonesia, is registering unhealthy air quality status in eight areas.
The Department of Environment (DOE) expects the haze to continue for several more days, Kazinform quotes Bernama.

As of 11 am Tuesday, the KL International Airport (KLIA) registered visibility at one kilometre, but a spokesman of Malaysia Airports (Sepang) Sdn Bhd, when contacted, said the situation did not affect flight schedules.

Several areas registered visibility of between two and four kilometres while some registered visibility of between six and seven kilometres.

Natural Resources and Environment Minister Adenan Satem said the dry weather with intermittent rain in several areas on the west coast of peninsular Malaysia also did not help to reduce the haze.

"The air quality which continues to be unhealthy is caused by pollution which has crossed the border following the South-West Monsoon wind blowing from the hot spot areas in Sumatera to the west coast of peninsular Malaysia which was traced by the latest satellite images," he said.

Adenan, said if the situation deteriorated further, the government would take drastic action including giving holidays to school children and reducing working hours.

"I think it is fair to say if the situation worsens, it might be necessary to take drastic steps. I will be briefing the Cabinet on the situation Wednesday," he said.

Adenan said of the 50 air quality monitoring stations throughout the country, 36 areas registered moderate air quality while six registered good air quality status.

Yeh, we have to live with the shit from other country. I continue to browse through for some extra evidence,

Man he looks like he's enjoying it doesn't he?

Well, yeah I know, they are burning those beautiful forest down for their own living, clearning up acres of space for their small plantation that barely helps their country's economy. I understand, its hard to see how a small fire started by some farmers can cause big havoc, but let me show you some satelite image of sumatra and the hotspots they've plotted on the map;

Okay, maybe you wont be able to see anything here, but click on the picture and you'll get what I mean. Nasa has marked the "HOTSPOTS" with rectangular shapped boxes. By the way, I don't mean TMnet HOTSPOT here, trust me, you will never get a single reception by standing at those hotspots, what you'll get is just some major 3rd degree burns and if you survive, terribly sore lungs. And if you so happen invested on a fireproof backpack for your laptop, you still might get a half burnt personal lap computer for future use in the muzium.

Okay, to end on a high note, here's a picture I've just snapped;

11th August 2005, Brickfields, KL

And if you are wondering why I would want to post it again? Okay, notice the difference in date? This particular picture is taken on the 11th whereas the first picture, 10th. Want a better comparison?

10th August on the left, and 11th August on the right, these pictures are not photoshopped, it's taken by the same camera, different time.

So what say you about this blurdy haze?? My advice to you, stay away from outdoor activities, stay away from outdoor mamak stalls, and stay home or go shopping at an air-conditioned place. Drink lotsa water and better still Coke.
