Twin Towers

I've been studying in Informatics College for about 2 1/2 years now in Ampang Park. For those years I've been there, I've never really walked around the twin towers. Today, after a successful project presentation, I decided to take a walk there, this time equiped with my camera.

For starters, I took this picture near the fountain, pretty nice I would say, considering the fact that I've never really observe this building before.

I really got bored waiting for fountain to come alive, the interesting part never really erected appeared so I just waited a few minutes when,

WHOALA!!! IT CAME TO LIFE!!! Well, I really don't know why, felt like a child today, was so happy when I saw it shooting.......Maybe because I was happy after a rough week, things went really smooth during the presentation (will post about it if I feel like it)

Behind this fountain, there are some nice pools for children to swim

I wonder what are those adults doing in the pool? Its such a hot day, guess they just want to get some sun burn.

Ahh, the centre court, its pretty weird though, they have signs put up here there not allowing us to take pictures, that's why I didn't really snap around, but this particular shot is the centre court, pretty nice eh?

Oh wow, they have a new world class convention centre, not bad really, took a short trip there and found out that the new aquaria is opening soon.

Will check that place out one day

My Project

Aha, what about this?? That little white box next to the lamp is suppose to be my final project. It is called a "Remote Controlled Light Dimmer". Before I continue on the work process, let me explain a little bit how my light dimmer works.

First of all, it is a manual light dimmer. There are 4 push buttons at the side. Out of the 4, 3 are function buttons;
  1. ON/OFF
  2. Dim
  3. Brighten

and 1 reset button.

Yeah, this is suppose the be the highlight of our project, the remote control function. Of course we had high hopes, the circuit was going well, every part falling into place.

The testing went well, first time of course, and then something happened. It started when a foreign piece of metal short circuited our board and BOOM!! Okay, not really boom, but then there was a trip at our college facilities.

Initially, didn't know what went wrong, and then, rewired the circuit, cleaned it, let it run. This time we encountered another problem

Aha, a blown capacitor, this was due to our own mistake, not checking the voltage tolerance properly before installing it.

After that, we fixed the problem but the circuit still couldn't run properly, found out the problem, lack of DC voltage to the microcontroller, we needed 5V and the reading only showed 3.7V. So we disconnected the filtering circuit, and installed an external circuit that will provide a constant 5V, yes using batteries(darn, that was what I tried to avoid since the beginning) but it seems the many blowups(we caused the college to blackout 5 times today) took a tool on our poor microcontroller, and he couldn't even say hello before waving goodbye.

Anyway, I've decided to go on and try to build another one for my own use. Oh yeah, before that, I NEED TO PREPARE THE DOCUMENTATION!! Thank God the lecturer was there to witness the blowups and he was very kind to tell us, "I think it is abit too late for you to troubleshoot anymore (obviously he's sick and tired of pushing the power switch on and on again due to the tripping)so I guess you prepare a report on the failure and list down the solutions to the circuit and make sure your documentation is complete."

WOW I felt so much better, we have been troubling him for the past week(we have been testing the circuit for the past week) due to the constant tripping of 5th floor Informatics.

Alright, now I'll have to pray hard, ask God for grace to do the presentation well tomorrow, will post about the presentation tomorrow night.

New Swimming Technique

Okay, here goes, I've been swimming for about 17 years now (I'm 20 now). It started as an interest, the natural love for water, till I started treating it more seriously, learning new strokes as age catches up. Alrite, I have to admit, I've lost it now hehe, due to the unrelenting pace of my mouth, and stomach, I find it hard to swim fast nowadays. But nomatter what happens, swimming will always be in my blood.

The past few days has been HECTIC! Wanted to use a more proper word, but "hectic" will do. Three assignments to finnish, a project that is almost done, a presentation to prepare on Saturday...we even blackout the college yesterday while testing our project. Okay, you might be wondering, what is the correlation between my final year project and swimming? Nothing actually, but it is because of this project I carried my camera around, and guess what! WHOA!! I managed to capture a lady swimming "FROG STYLE" wei...

Here goes;

Notice anything interesting? No?? Okay, I might not be as experienced as some other professional swimmers, but aren't we looking at a relatively new stroke here?? Hrmm, I can't see her swimming freestyle, nor is it breastroke, not even close to butterfly, and if you call it backstroke, come and see me, I'll give you a butt stroke(with a rotan that is). OH HOLD ON!! DID I JUST MENTION BUTT STROKE!!! BINGO!!! I've found the most appropriate name for this new style!

Lets discuss about the pros and cons of this new swimming technique. First of all, notice how aerodynamic her posture is?? Rocket style shape, design to cut through water with unrelenting pace! Fine, lets talk more about the aerodynamic probabilities of this technique. I was brainstorming my mind (after another sleepless night doing my project ) and then I found a very interesting article, and yes, it relates to formula one.

Wings

Go ahead, click on the picture to see the technical expect of a formula one car's wings! And now, I have come to deduce that the raised butt is to create more downforce. Okay wait, sorry, I got it all wrong, why in the world would a swimmer wants to create downforce for?? ARRGGHH!! I'm cracking my head trying to figure out the reason for such posture. Okay, I officially give up, it is impossible that the buttstroke is created for downforce. That's it, I'm leaving the comment box open for those who can provide me technical feedback for the new found swimming technique.....

Groin Injury Wei

Sorry for not posting the past few days, has been busy with alot of stuff. But a futsal game on Saturday produce some unwanted scene, hilarious, but unwanted and uncomfortable at the same time.

Allow me to introduce our actor here. Some picture I took over the net of a footballer groaning in pain. Looks like he's been hit by a ball directly at his "little brothers" as Jesudas likes putting it.

Back to the Saturday incident. We were playing for almost 45 minutes already, everyone was near exhoustion, that includes me. Our unlucky victim, Philip, only wanted to block a pass I was trying to execute, but unfortunately, his "brothers" didn't get out of the way fast enough.

Let me paint you a picture of what happened exactly after the contact;
  1. Ball hit his "brothers" but nobody notice it.
  2. He kicks the ball away and looks alright.
  3. The opponent got the ball and started running.
  4. Philip slumps on the ground holding his "brothers" groaning in pain(take the top picture as a reference)
  5. I went over, carried him up, quickly appologizes and laughed.
I'm sorry, but I just couldn't help it but laugh. Philip was exclaiming, "I can't stand wei, arghhhh!!!" And started to stretch his arms up, tried to straigthen his body and do all sorts of funny faces. I really don't know how a soft pass from me could do such big damage!!!

I felt really really bad at that moment. We decided to stop playing at that very instant(it was due to the exhoustion, not because of Philip's "brothers"). My sorry feeling turned into humour moments later when Philip came up to me and started talking, "You know arrr, the other day we play futsal, this Johnathan kicked the ball SO HARD directly at my "brothers" wei. I fell down lar holding that part then this Eman came towards me. I thought he wanted to help me get up but then he started pointing at that part and say, "I HEARD THAT SOUND!! IT WENT PLOOP LIKE GOT WATER!!". You see lar, so terrible man this fellah"

At that instant, I burst out laughing!! Thanks Philip, for making my day. Looks like I'm cleared of all guilt, he felt the pain mainly because his "brothers" have not fully recovered from an accident earlier on.

So guys and girls...err I mean guys only, the morale of the story is, please protect your little brothers, they are precious.

Hrm, this reminds me of a conversation I had with a very curious friend once. She was bold enough to ask me about my "little brothers". The conversation went this way, by the way, I will be using "her" for the time being;
Her : Err, you kena there before ar??

Me : Har?? Where??!!

Her : Neh that part arr...I always see if guys kena there

Me : Oic, of course lar, I'm already 20, kena more than once lor..

Her : Err so how arr?? pain or not one?

Me : OF COURSE PAIN LAR!!! You kena there I know lar not so pain but we kena teruk lor

Her : Eh nola..we kena oso pain wan. So how it feels like wan??

Me : ...........

Her : Tell lar....

Me : Okay, at first when kena wont feel anything, but after a few seconds start to hurt lor, till the extend cannot walk properly...

Her : I heard arr, if kena too hard can be mandul wan wor..

Me : Yeah lor can wan.

Her : So how they know leh?

Me : They go and check kua..

Her : Really arr?? So you kena before got check anot??

Me : .............(silent) No lar never check before..I think i better go and check now

Her : (started laughing)

Well, I've found a website that can explain and cure all your curiosity. Click here, they have an archive of all related articles you can read about.

NOTE: The website is from a search engine, Google search.

Oh yeah by the way, I've asked Philip if he's check his "brothers", he is thanking me for helping his brothers grow "strong". All the best.....

Is He/She Taken?

Well, I just came online and started chatting with no other than Wes again when Philip's display name cought my attention;

So, why, when you finally find the perfect guy, he is not taken? WOW!!! PHILIP!!! YOU BLOW MY MIND AWAY!!!! First and foremost, I'm wondering why would of all people, Philip wants to find the perfect guy for? And then I found the culprit;

Oh my goodness, even Wesley's been influenced by his gayness(now I wonder if there is such word as "gayness" since we all made that mistake of "humbleness". NOTE! IT'S HUMILITY, NOT HUMBLENESS) or maybe I should use proper English, gayishlity. I was really really worried for Philip, COME ON!!! Young, handsome, good looking, DON'T BE A GAY MAN!!

Well, I was pretty releaved when I approached him, he made it clear that it's only a message for other girls to ponder about, THANK GOODNESS!!!! Well, good point, but seriously, what's there to ponder about?? First things first, define the meaning, "PERFECT MAN". Upon searching up the word in dictionary.com, here's the result;
No entry found for perfect man.

Did you mean perfecting?
Suggestions:
perfecting
pivot man
pocket money
See what I mean? Okay, I know, it's just to finger out a point here, there's no such thing as a "perfect man". Each and every one of us out there have our own ideas of an ideal partner, one who might seem awkward to someone might be just right for another! So my advice to Philip is, look around first, don't worry about this somewhat "worldly" girl your crazy after. Of course first impressions are important(like what Philip said) but then, first impression is not the best impression.

So that's all lar Lip, this is for you to ponder over. Look to God man.

Alright, lets talk about Philip lar. He's been through quite a number of experience involving girls, lets be specific, since the age of 14? Maybe younger, I wouldn't know. Okay I'll spare you all the details. After so many trials, he has learn to sober down and be humble, in short, he's mixing more with Jesudas (a very worrying sight). And because of that, he's growin up, forgeting his past experiences, and worst of all, he's turning into a GAY!! Just kidding. That's all about Philip for now, another lame post of course.

Blogging Mood

I've just notice something interesting, my many months of blogging made me realize that each and every blogger has his "MooDs". One good example is my dear friend Wesley. Just about 1/2 hour ago, he claims he is busy blogging, making me wait for another lame post well, excited I was, as you can see, his post are pretty cool and dumb hilarious. Gosh, I'm now pretty much influenced by his striking prowess to cut out his true thoughts. By the way, he just messaged me;
w3s says:
i actually dun hav much of mood 2 blog ler..
J@c08~http://jacobtan.blogspot.com says:
why not lar
w3s says:
so, i was like lyin on my bed.. come back 2 laptop..
w3s says:
not well ler..

Now, that's something that usually happens, even to me, but seldom brought out. I can immagine Wesley's look now

I'm suppose to remove the BKT picture there but it just suites him well man but was abit lazy, so it'll fit nicely to my description. Anyhow, as I was still typing this entry to my post, guess what? I've found more pictures to describe Wesley's mood and crappyness well being today, check it out,

Sick..

Shit.. I am sick.. How sick?

I feel that my head is dizzy, heavy, as though I am going to fall anytime..

I feel like shitting, but when I reached the loo.. I am not able to release, even after some straining till the throne almost break hard work.. But when I don't feel like shitting, I sat there, it just came out naturally..

I was, "......" (Speechless)

I feel cold.. Even though the weather is hot.. My fingers are shivering while I was trying to type..

I feel tired, I feel like sleeping again.. But when I lie on my bed, some naked hot chic's picture keep floating on my mind, distracting me from my sleep I am not able to sleep..

I tried to play some songs to entertain myself, so that I could forget that I am sick, but the fat neighbour shouted at me from next door its not good to disturb my neighbour..

Forget about this picture

So, finally, I gossip chat with Jacob.. Well, talked about breast chatted about everything.. From "Blog" to "Hattrick", from "Hattrick" to "Girls".. & from "Girls" to "Food"..

At least, there's something to keep me awake, something to distract me from feeling lousy..

I just hate falling sick..

That's why, my post today is pretty dry..

Till I get well then.. May God Bless Me..
NOTE: This interesting compilation of pictures and words is from Wesley's blog again.

True enough, God bless you Wes, pray hard and recover fast. I didn't know we talked about breast though, maybe Wesley's term, "nen nen" means breast. He was talking about people's nen nen sized like a xiu pao, tai pao what sort of pao, anyway, I didn't really get it. By the way, if any of you would like to learn about hamsap stuff the anatomy of girls/ladies/aunties/granmas, you can always contact Wes, he's the masters holder in chabology. But if any of you would like to know more about food, feel free to drop me a message, I'm a diploma holder in makanology.

Okay, I've digress too far, the topic should be, Blogging mood. I guess my post today reveals that my blogging mood is OK!!! But still, there are many factors that determine blogging mood. Take Wesley(again) for example, his mood today is bad........bad.........bad

Oh My Goodness

Well, I'm suppose to type this entry last week when something happened. It is a first for me, my racquet string broke after just one week of restringing! THAT'S IT MAN!!! Just wasted another RM20 getting it stringged, again! I guess I'll have to take a week or 2 off from badminton, hurt my knee "again" due to some careless futsal incident.

It happened before the game even started, when I was getting a feel of the ball when my right foot hit my left leg and I fell down awkwardly. Upon trying to break the fall, my poor knee got twisted. It made me wonder a little bit, why on earth do I keep tripping on my own 2 feet?? Geesh it feels terrible and abit humiliating, especially when you have someone like James laughing at me when I fell down the other day(Note: I'll do the same thing too if I see someone tripping on his/her own 2 feet). For what I know, I've been praying about it for quite some time now.

Thank God it was revealed why I've been suffering so much of this "clumsy" trips. Shall not reveal it here, but boy!!! I haven't felt SOOOO GOOD in years now!

I've been reading through Wesley's blog(again) lately and I've notice how much he's into blogging now. By the way, he has changed his Blog's address, so my previous post will not redirect you to his current updated blog. My goodness, I think he can easily out post and out ping KennySia's blog! I also notice how much he likes to strike his words. I think that is lame now I think that is creative, at least he can express his words, cancel it as though he is so innocent strike it and then use some other proper words to describe his thoughts.

I was watching Discovery channel the other day, about "bears", all sorts of bears. It made me think about bears again, quite frequently. Started to think about how they can HYBERNATE!!! I mean such big animals hybernating throughout the winter. The one bear that cought me most is the cartoon series that I used to watch, "Gummy Bears". Now these are the only bears in the world that can bounce here and there, isn't that cute?? I was googling it trying to search for a perfect picture of gummy bears, but the search result turned out,

Now I've tried using words like "gummy bears", "gummy bear cartoon" and so forth, but the results are undesirable..

There you go, the original GUMMY BEARS, even though it looks nothing like the cartoon version. Actually, it just reminds me of someone. By the way, the cartoon gummy bears are really cute. They need to drink a certain "Gummy Juice" then they can bounce around on their butts. Nevertheless, bears still intrigue me, They are tough, hardy, playful, strong and very POWERFUL!

Saubers, Back?

After a great performance in France, a Sauber fan like me must wonder, "Are they back?"

Of course one might ask, back from? Their slumber of course!! After last year's successful end of season charge, I was hoping they would continue to make big strides this year, sad enough, the rule changes implemented by FIA was abit too harsh on small budget priveteer teams like Sauber PETRONAS(notice how I bold the word Petronas?? That's because of that logo I'm supporting Sauber). The big teams were able to flash big bugs in research and developement, building parts such as suspension, bodyworks, for fun, coupled with a wind tunnel working 24/7, to adapt and build fast cars. Look at what money did to teams like McLarens, Renault, Ferraris, BAR(this cheating team, but serves them well, points taken away mid season). The only exception is Williams BMW, suffering from internal strife.

I'm sure all Sauber fans out there was bemused by the lack of pace shown by Filipe Massa and Jacques Villeneuve. No doubt they were all fired up after a switch to Michelin from Bridgestones(tyres), hiring a former champion in Jacques Villeneuve, and a very advance CFD system together with an under-utilized wind tunnel. The first few races were far from impressive! A turnaround was expected somewhere around now and BANG ON TARGET! They started to show pace! Much was down to the sudden anouncement of BMW buying out Sauber thus injecting much much more money into this team(Not that I'm understating the existing engineers or what, I'm sure the current speed is due to their work that couldn't be implemented sooner because of the lack of funds).

Was reading a forum in Jacques Villeneuve's site when they were discussing how much this buyout will effect Sauber's performance for the final 3rd of the season. I'm pretty much looking forward to what this mini team can do with big budget, and how they will perform next year under the brand BMW. What more, the new takeover triggered speculations regarding driver's future. It is seen Nick heidfeld(Williams), is a favourite of BMW and would likely follow suite to Team BMW next year, leaving Button free to the vacant seat at Williams, which again might not materialize due to BAR's improving performace, and thus needing one of the current Sauber drivers to leave the team. Of course it's mere speculation, but all this should be fun to follow up.

I've started to visit the Sauber's forum again lately. The huge spike in fans flooding into the forum at the beginning of the year was suppose to be somewhat of a welcome note, but sad to say, the arrival of certain bashers, some critical comments by both existing fans and new fans sparked war that disgusted me. Anyhow, Peace...better not be pissed.

Another Graphics Card

As "UN"expected, our graphics card started to give problems again! So this time, my dad decided to get another one. He was so enthusiastic he actually wanted to get a 128mb card!!! That wouldn't be bad at all of course, it'll work even when we upgrade our PC next time. With this is mind, he embarked on a solo mission to Lowyat Plaza and started enquiring. One of the shop owner(not sure what shop) was kind enough to explain to him that a 128 card might not neccessarily be supported by our motherboard(poo poo fellah), so he introduced a 64mb card instead. When I heard that news, my reaction was like, "Oh true also lar."

Little did I know, dad actually bought quite a good one! ATI Radeon 7000! In fact, it was so good our motherboard could't fully support it!!!!

Thanks dad, really love it!

Too bad the computer will hang if I try to stress the card too much! Darn useless motherboard. So, I had no choice but to use an older driver, cut down on performance, and let it run like it's a 32mb card(what a waste isn't it?). Nevertheless, good card.

I've been trying hard to find replacement parts for my project, all the parts and chips I need couldn't be found. So in the end, I've decided to simplify the circuit, use a TRIAC instead of the more reliable 6-pin microsoft chip, and of course, remove certain safety components(hope it doesn't blow up). It took me hours of thinking, calculating the risk, calculating the humiliation, but it was actually 12a.m., Sunday morning, while talking on the phone with a friend, I've decided to take the huge "Risk".

By the way, made another blunder by buying the wrong type of paper. Was suppose to get the "toner transferable paper" and a transparency, but I totally forgot about the toner transferable paper(TTP). Darn, had to delay my project again. You see, the circuit has been drawn on a 1:1 scale, all I have to do is to print the circuit on the TTP and scratch it on the board and then etch it. The transparency is to print out the drill bit diagram which I prepared so that we can drill the hold more accurately.

The weather today is lovely! And I'm pretty happy because cool contact won yesterday! It was something unexpected as my midfielders were all very low in form. Looks like wing training is starting to bear fruits as now I have 1 supernatural winger, 1 world class winger, 1 magnificient winger, and 1 formidable with outstanding playmaking winger! WOOHOO!!! What made the victory sweeter was the fact that the opponent scored first, but the final score is 4-1!

Okay, back to my project, will try to post a few pictures regarding it the next time...
