At last

Aha, the new casing, yeah I know, it's only a simple design, but hei! My dad LOVES IT!! It comes with a 450Watt power supply and I can just fit in my P3 motherboard easily. Yeah the assembly was a snap. One reason why my dad chose this casing was because of it's colour! Yeah, he says it suites the AVR he brought back

Yeah, not bad eh? The AVR has 3 ports supplying constant 230Volts of electricity, optimum for the PSU, and my monitor. The other port is still empty, thinking of using it for the printer. But the next headache will be, which printer to plug it too? The laserjet or the inkjet? Any idea?

The back of the casing, too bad I wont be able to display the lights from my fan externally. If you can observe, yes the cables are very very messy! Too many cables flying here there making my head spin and thus I've decided to clean it up after finnishing this post. The casing is pretty good, with good air ventilation. They've produce holes on top of the casing, which of course I didn't know why but after carefully monitoring the heat and so forth, I notice that even without the extractor fans, the temperature is still resonably low, in fact, it makes almost NO difference with or without the fans. But in the end, I've decided to fit both the fans inside, one for air intake and the other to extract the air.

The main problem would still be the graphics card. Went to check out whether my previous spoilt one is ready, but to no avail. The current card is giving out signal, "I'm almost doomed" and the heat sink is broken. Anyway, will just be hoping it will hold up long enough for the replacement.

Biggest BooBoo in HT history

I cannot believe it, I've created history amongs the 6yardboxers to be one of the better teams not passing round 1 of Piala Malaysia with a scoreline of 0-5, to a drone team...A DRONE TEAM!!!!....My goodness, even the girls would never lose with such a scoreline to a DRONE TEAM!! More likely they'll be winning with such score!!..

Okay here's my excuse;

Thursday:-
Went to Klang, Boston restaurant to eat LaLa with a group of friends from China. Had to go to a condo near Centre Point to pick 3 of them up. Met up with my dad at the NKVE toll and proceeded from there to Klang. Highway speed limit? 110km/h...I was driving at? 50km/h, reason? Someone was suppose to tail me and she got lost when I was driving at 80km/h. Solution? Slow down to 60......waited 10 minutes......slow down to 50.....another 5 minutes....stop by the road side, received a call claiming I'm going too fast, she cannot keep up. Okay fine, compromise...that's what I've been learning since getting involved with...nvm.....So a journey that takes barely 15minutes became like a torture to me. Watching cars zoom pass me with speed not exceeding the speed limit was such a...........you know....very embarrasing. So the next whole journey, barely going at 50km/h, if I'm lucky, maybe touching 60 lar, had to keep looking at my back mirror, so much so I nearly ram into my dad's car...OPPS. Okay, so you might be asking, what does that has to do with me not setting my team up? NOTHING AT ALL!! Just wanted to do some extra reporting on my food activities. Oh yeah...the LALA WAS GREAT!!!By the way, send those "aunties back" and rushed home to to use the internet(for a very good reason of course) those who knows me will know why I need to be back before midnight. That's when I decide to set my team, after finnishing the "task". But something bad happened, the "task" couldn't be completed due to some technical stuff. So, I left my computer on and send Junbo home. Came back about 3 and whoalla!!! IT WORKED!! Was so filled with joy i forgot to set my team.

Friday:-
Ahhh, usually I will be online on Friday afternoons but had to be contented with afternoon class. So, made up my mind to set team after coming back from church, I mean supper. But some things happened and I had to run here there after church, so much so I came back, switch on my computer, and forgot what I wanted to do. Switch it off again and went to sleep.

Saturday:-
YAY!! SATURDAY!!! Usually I've already set my team by Saturday, but because of the unforseen circumstances and situation that plagued me, need to compromise again lor. Well I was already logged in to the Hattrick site, at the page where I can set my team when my phone rang and I totally forgot about Hattrick after that.

Sunday:-
Hehe...went to Uncle Loke's house to watch a movie and forgot about Hattrick.

Monday:-
Errr...same situation as Saturday.

Tuesday:-
Suppose to set after church but was summoned to be drivers for the chinese students. Reach home at 2a.m and went straight to bed.

Wednesday:-
Woke up late, switch on computer without brusing my teeth, exclaimed "OH SHIT!!! TOO LATE!!!"

So there you go, the sequence of events that led to the demise of Cool Contact. Of course the players were pretty sad and the assistant coach was totally helpless to help the club, a visit to "Ah Sang's BKT" solved that problem. Now the players are all refreshed and ready for our first league game.

Silly me

Hrm, I've been plagued by the problems my computer is facing. 2 graphics card blown, and my current one is showing signs of retiring. After checking for such a long time, I finally found out the problem. Silly me, I've overloaded the power supply with too many stuffs. Extra fans, a CD writter, a CDRom, geesh! And guess what? I've lost my wisdom to understand the fact that my dear PSU is already 5 years old and it can only supply a maximum of 250Watts, YES!! ONLY 250!!! With a sound card, a graphics card, network card, 2 printers working sucking some power, USB GEESH!!! Nowonder my previous motherboard retired with 2 blown capacitors.

Solution?? YAY!! Ask daddy to get me a new casing with a better PSU. Well actually a PSU would do but because our casing is abit "outdated" and the new casing is very cheap and stylish, what the heck! Anyway, anyone of u wanting to get casing or other computer stuff can message me lar. Of course my dad supported me and he told me, "We better get an AVR(automatic voltage regulator) too.." Of course I would agree! So there goes, he got us a very good AVR indeed, the one for industrial use that weight about 5 kilos! HAHA man I was soooo happy!!!! The only thing I didn't enjoy is carrying it up to my house =P.

Well, the new casing is not here yet, so I have no graphical evidence for all you readers, and yes, I'm still operating with a nearly dead AGP card, w ith my screen flickering once in a while and with vertical lines appearing everywhere, oh hold on, is it vertical or horizontal? Opps, my mind is once again, slow.

My mind has been slow these pass few days, lack of sleep, lack of water, geeeshhhh....I even slept while watching "The Pacifier", yeah slept on the floor and woke up with a backache. I even slept for a while watching "Should We Dance?" but end up liking the show. Oh yeah, my mind is a little bit slow too, due to "thinking too much??" What to do next, what to say, err...and people like Neo coming up to me asking me all sorts of questions regarding the girl he likes. Come on, HOW IN THE WORLD SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT HER!!!!

Hrm....I would also like to thank people like Wesley, Anneh and Sim Ying for keeping me accompanied during my quiet drive to RA. Thanks to some passengers who seems reluctant to talk to me, looks at me like I'm gonna eat them up, treat me like glass. Okay let me clarify, the only person who was "nice" enough to even try and talk and lighten the situation was aunty Winnie...thanks sooo MUCH!!! So how did they helped me? Nice of them to stop by with a phone call, chat a while, laugh abit and of course thanks to Philip and his geng too for accompanying me at Kinrara while waiting for the rest to finnish their supper in RA.

Knowing that I would once again endure a quiet moment sending the "passengers" back to Damansara, I've decided to employ a co-driver by the name no other than the superbly annoying yet sometimes cute and can be irritating, Sanctuary. It's not like I have any other choice or what, she was the only one available to be my co-driver that time, It was already 2 a.m. Well, was pretty happy with her performance. At least she kept me awake and didn't become too "irritating". The fees? Just send her home lor.

Wow...I'm starting to blog again. Maybe because I'm influenced by this fellah named Kenny Sia. Aiyah just go read it yourself lar, you'll understand what I mean.

Computer Trouble

Well well well, my faithful computer has been plagued by a disease lately. I don't know what to call it exactly but maybe in simplier terms, it went "blind". Darn graphics card just had to go. What made things worst is that, the supposedly trusty computer took out 2 graphics card in 2 days!! What a discovery, a PC that is "graphics card" hungry.
This is the second card that went "Kaput". The first wan is a gForce 2 with 64mb memory by nVidia. Bought it cheap last time and lasted me for about 6 months only!! Well good thing it is still under waranty, that's why I insist it be taken back to the manufacturers even though it can be fixed with a simple change of capacitor. So now I am currently using a older 32mb card borrowed from James' computer. The heatsink fan for his card wasn't working, so I had to remove it and place an extractor fan near the card. If you were to enlarge the picture on top you will get what I mean.

I've decided to add another fan at the side. Main reason for that? Mostly cosmetic issues, I like the lights. But it is good also to make sure your computer does not overheat. Anyway, it wasn't easy the pass few days, as dad needed to use the computer and he, being pretty much a newbie to coms, was abit frustrated that the monitor didn't work. He pretty much wanted it to be fixed the very same day, but there's nothing i can do about the graphics card. Thank God, truely nothing happen by chance. Just a day before, Sean and Jane(the happily married couple) gave me their used PC and an extra graphics card to go with it. So I took the new graphics card and replaced it, works just fine! But after a day, there it goes again.........almost identical problem, but more like the initial stages. Symptoms start arising and after a while, GONE. No choice, had to call James(whom I gave the spare PC to) and steal his graphics card. Good thing his computer has integrated graphics, and he doesn't play games, so having quality graphics will not be an issue. By the way, using his AGP card is just temporary as I will be switching back to the original one after it is fixed properly. Sorry James.

Well I tried using back my old motherboard because it has integrated graphics but it doesn't seems to work! Wasted almost an hour of effort removing all the cards, unplugging the cables, shifting the CPU and so forth. So in the end, an extra hour was needed to change back to my old motherboard. By the way, everything is working fine now and thank God my dad is satisfied that he can suft the net once more. Well my aunty just called, apparently she's got StreamyX now and she wants me to teach her how to surf the net. Hrmm...I smell some extra complications coming up next! Or maybe not, just have to teach her children, aged 7 and above to use the computer properly. But on third thought, I'd better becareful....it seems they've even mutilated the keyboard once! Alright, let your imagination run now........

Something To Ponder??

Hrm, this looks like a very nice picture isn't it? It typifies my mind now, a little bit misty, but why? Well maybe because of the problems in college, lecturers leaving, they cannot confirm my major and so forth. besides that, there are so many things going through my head now. Anyway, just leave everything to God's hands and hope things turn out good.

My mind has been pretty slow these few days, maybe it was the trip to Johor, the food and so forth, or maybe it is just me getting heavier, Opps. Have been struggling quite abit with the badminton game, more like struggling playing singles. Well, those are just signs of, you know. Had a very bad experience yesterday, I mean someone I know, not me. He was hit with the racquet in the eye, broke his glasses which is by the way made of plastic, and the plastic cut his lower eyelid. What made things worst was that it happened trying to retrieve my shot. It was more like a misunderstanding between him and his partner that led to the mishap. Of course blood was oozing out and we were all just plain shocked and of course worried. But thank God that cut wasn't deep and after a while we could all joke about it. Of course that was the end of badminton for the day for uncle Sunny but he still enjoy teasing and watching others play.

Was very dissapointed with my singles game. Lack of discipline, lack of practice and motivation, you name it... mainly lack of BKT. But good thing the doubles was enjoyable, so it sort of made up for the dissapointment.

Hrm..what should I share next? Okay lets talk about my short trip to Johor Bharu. Went on a day trip with Small James and Timo. The main aim of the trip? MEE REBUS! But of course before that we had to make a short stop at immigration department. That was for work purposes and has nothing to do with both Timo or me, just small James. By the way, Timo was quite desperate to send some messages but his phone's credit expired so he had no choice but to use my phone to try and message his "player". He's pretty smart, deleting the message after sending it, trying to hide the contents from me but, nevermind, I'll just leave the juicy part for other entries. I really don't want to go detailed about the whole trip but here's one part that I really didn't enjoy, No!!! I'm not talking about the mee but I'm talking about the waiting part at the immigration department. Poor Timo got mistaken for a Bangladeshi worker hehe. Oh yeah, the FOOD PART! Because of the waiting, we actually had no time to make a turn back to the town for the so called "BEST JOHOR MEE REBUS!", so we had to make do with a food court next to the Straits. Wasn't complaining though, we were starving then but the substitute mee rebus wasn't all that bad afterall!
Here you go, the enviroment wasn't all that bad and the mee? Well I hate to repeat what I've said but it was good, good enough to be called good. I wouldn't know if our hunger effected this judgement but well, I liked it very much, so much so we went for seconds. Opps it means I went for a second bowl. At that moment, my phone started to ring and guess wat!! Nice Timo took it out "OF HIS POCKET" and answered it. Yes, he was filled with joy...he tried to call his "player" earlier but she didn't pick up the phone and so now, she's replying his call. Oh Timo, next time if that happens, please do not claim I was the one trying to call her ok?

After that it was all rush, rush and rush! Not that we broke the speed limit or what, but we had to rush home in time so that we wont miss church service, it's very very important to us. Well I made a mistake offering myself to drive enticipating that both of them would keep me awake througout the journey. They did, for about 15 minutes and then for the next 3 hours, what I could hear was only soft snooring. Nice of them eh? What to do.....didn't want to wake them up lar....got church later.

Anyway, the enjoyable part was definately the FOOD!! And yes, sorry for repeating it again and again, but hei! You can't blame me! I didn't find any other thing interesting there. After badminton yesterday, James did invite me to follow him again today and I agreed. But I guess he found another co-driver and so here I am, free to blog again.

BBCC Hunt

Wow it took 8 cups of cendols and black jelly to satisfy the thirst of 4 person! Yes I will not hide the truth I mean evidence. The gulping down of glass after glass of water is done merely by, my dad, small James, Wesley and I. Not bad, we went to 3 places in a time span of about 3-4 hours and gulp down more than 10 cups of drink. The first stop was PJ old town, a very very old foodcourt called "Medan Selera". Okay I think I'll make a count of the number of drinks we took. 1st stop, all together 8 cups.

Our main aim going there was actually to get a grip of aunty's famous BBCC, BoBo ChaCha or more known as MongMong ChaCha(blur blur) to my father. Dad was so dissapointed as the lady, hiding her face politely told us, "Sorry lar James, sold all already lar, I know you came here for that, and that is why I hide my face."

So we substituted it with cendol, lots of cendol. While enjoying the cendol, dad suddenly got excited and exclaimed, "I know a place! The BBCC is almost as good as here!!!"

That got us excited too and we waited for a reply. "PJ NewTown! The building same row as A&W but all the way the other end!"

Yeah! We got it!! So after a that we headed straight there, hoping for some good BBCC. Of course, the excitement got into us, we hurried there and guess wat! Woo so many people there! Must be good! RIGHT?? Wrong, apparently the woman operating the shop passed away 2 years ago and the whole segment, including a stall selling fried mee and so forth, closed down too. We settled down quickly and went for another round of drinks. Dad, James and Wes ordered Coke while I went for Ice Kacang. Well the Ice Kacang looks good but the taste? Nah....not up to my expectation.

So it was there Wes started talking about alot of things to my dad and well, being a very experienced father and a good listener, my dad just answered Wes as he feels appropriate. Of course I myself learn alot of things too from such conversation, especially this part, "Don't be quick to judge...Always look at yourself first!". Oh how true, and how much others have misunderstand my dad just because he is a happy go lucky guy and just because he is always out to find the TRUTH. I guess some people just can't live without their EGO once in a while, even if my dad makes a mistake, he is always ready to accept it and apologize to the other party, now that is one good example, and he's not afraid to admit it even infront of his own children.

Okay before I forget, lets continue the cup count. For this pit stop, we generated a total of 4 cups, 3 coke and 1 Ice Kacang. So in total, 8 + 4 = 12.

The weather wasn't that friendly, humid and hot, made things uncomfortable for us. So we decided to head to A&W for extra drinks and some waffles. Now that's more like it, air conditioned and clean. So we continue to talk with RootBeer and waffles on our table. Next cup count, 5 RootBeer, and that makes a total of? 12 + 5 = 17cups!!! 17 cups in 3 hours! Not bad eh?

I really lost track of time then, didn't really know what time we started and what time we ended but it was really fun, running around looking for BBCC and end up with waffles and Rootbeer. Maybe when any of you reading this goes out next time, try running around different venue, it's FUN!!!

By the way, I believe Wesley will surely blog about such events and most probably he'll add some very good commments too.....go ahead, visit it here

EXAMS!!!

Yeap, it's exam week! And of course this is the time all of us will be slogging it all out to try and out do each other! Of course judging by the subjects we are taking this semester, the main aim was to pass all subjects! Huh! Look at that! Ijan studying!!! Haha, Ijan here's a happy go lucky fellah so it was pretty surprising witnessing him with his books and so forth.
Of course I had much better time this semester with Ijan and indren around, they made studies more interesting for me!
Well the most interesting part is of cause doing group study! We even did it while taking breakfast. Of course that was abit last minute but quite fun! Indren is the more serious type, worrying all the time trying to be negative but hei! His results are pretty good!

As it is apparent here, many people have many different ways to study. Some are tense, some are cool, some are confident but of course how much work they put into it will determine the end result.

There you go, our exam hall. Notice how relaxed all the students are?? Well we were sorting out our places then. The whiteboard will be decorated with the rules and so forth with a clock hung up. Very thoughtful of them as most of us wasn't wearing a watch. Anyway the final paper went really well for me, by God's grace. Thank God that everything I studied and pay attention at was there! Right infront of me! The exam questions!! So now I'll just have to pray that the result correspond.

Roti Roti Roti

There you go, my breakfast the other day at a mamak stall near my house. Of course I wasn't alone, was with a good old friend, Maria Justin.
There you go, good old friend Justin. Well was pretty surprised he ask me out for yum cha. It's been a long time since we keep in touch but well, still the same old Justin. Anyway, preparing Roti Canai isn't as simple as it looks. You see the man flipping and tossing the doe? It requires skill or you'll end up tearing it to pieces! Of course I ordered my favourite Roti Kosong Banjir where they will cut the roti into pieces and pour the dahl or curry on top of it. Well
Obviously that man didn't understand what I wanted and I ended up eating the normal roti kosong. Well enough of Roti Kosong. Was having a short chat with Justin when someone called him, it was none other than my ex-physics teacher, Pn. Sumangala! What a surprise! She called him for help and both of us went to visit our old school. Turn out she's having a problem with the keyboard of the new computer. Well nothing much actually, just that she didn't plug the keyboard in nicely and that's all. Of course she looks quite surprised to see me there and exclaimed, AHH JACOB! Well I guess the only thing running through her mind would be, "Man you've grown!" Please don't ask me what it means. In the end, I just tweaked the computer abit to make it faster and that's it, headed home! Ijan called me when I was trying to get a nap, asking me to go college to discuss about our next exam paper but after an hour or so, he sms me cancelling it. Apparently he had to attend his aunty's kenduri or party.
