Yeah, thanks to some water, lots of it actually, my keyboard got fried. How the water slip in?? Don't ask me, the last person to use the computer is actually my sister who claims she didn't drink any water(can't judge for myself that part). Just take a look at it, constant hours of gaming by both my brothers and mostly my sister make that keyboard look so old!!!
Well, there's nothing I can do this time to save it, the water caused a short circuit in turn burnt the lines, in short, koyak lor. Well, I really found it hard to tell my dad, the first time my keyboard got burnt last year(not documented in this blog) my dad was really really enraged, he warned us about drinking near the computer but it seems my sister(yes it's she again) didn't take heed and left the cup of water there, the rest of the story, let your imagination fly lar.
So, since the keyboard got fried yesterday, and so happen I wasn't at home then, my sister left a note at the computer table, "How come some of the keys cannot type wan??"
Well, the first thing I did, switch on the computer and check on it. True enough, gila keyboard, doesn't give the letters I type. For example, if I were to type "a", the display will show that I've pressed the "tab" first then an "a" will appear on the screen. Oh yeah, most of the keys are not working. Next move, switch off the computer, take out my screw driver and operate on the keyboard. Upon disposing of the back lid, I found containment of water, lots of it inside. It shorted most of the lines and of course some burnt lines here and there. There's nothing I can do about it, so, re-assemble the keyboard back, and then wrote another note, "You poo poos, spill water on the keyboard of course cannot type lar! You better pay me for a new one!!!"
And as usual, my sister denied that she ever spill any water and again, she wasn't happy at all that she is the main subject. So, too bad lor, I pulak have to spend my own money to get another keyboard. This time, I've decided to go for a Logitech keyboard, black in colour. Why black? Well, the previous keyboard looked like an old junk with all the stain marks here and there. Here's how the new one looks like;
Yeah, nice eh? Actually, the main reason I paid extras for this is because of the "Guai Low" sales person. No, not that I respect the guai low or wat, it's just the way he presented this keyboard to me, I was impressed. Very friendly, very informative, cracking lame jokes here there, and yeah, "One year warranty if you were to get this!"
What a contrast to the other sales person whom approached at first. I was actually looking for a similar model to my previous keyboard, and I wanted it to be PS/2 connector. I found it but to my "horror" it only came in USB type connectors. So I asked him, "Do you have the PS/2 type?"....that fellah just answered, "Nola, out of stock and looked away"
Geesh, when I saw this black keyboard, I actually took a new box to inspect it, he came to me, "Don't open la, there got sample wat!"( I think he got use the word "please" but I don't care much, it's my impression of him )
Actually I just wanted to inspect before taking that particular one, but since he was so "kind" I actually decided to walk away until his guai low senior came over, "Yes sir, looking for a keyboard?? This is a very good one, and I can tell you, it will definately last longer than your PC which is good wont it??"
Nice way of introduction, he continued for a while and so that's it, purchased it. Well there were minor minor conversation in the middle that I've left out as I deem it, not important. The morale of the story is, if you want to sell stuff, make sure you know how to treat each and every customer. Not that I was like going get them a multi million deal or what, please do not misunderstand me, but don't you think that each and every customer, nomatter big or small should be given good treatment, nevertheless, they are still your source of income. By the way, thanks Wes for once again accompanying me today, he was actually looking for a mouse and found one too. By the way, our friend, Wes here is a sales person too, selling Viagra and loads of other medical stuff, or is he? Well he reminded me of the importants to be able to talk well if you want to be a sales person, and yeah, he's GOOD!!!
