Dang, it's almost 10 pm now, I'm supposed to be sleeping, but due to me own restlessness, increase in blood pressure (work pressure), here I am. Once again, I must lament, me life has been work work work and WORK!!!

Langkawi!

It's been about a week now since the trip to Langkawi, well, here are some pictures;
Some rich man Jetty on the way to Langkawi Cable car. Too bad the cable car was closed for maintenance, so we headed to Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls instead.
Seriously though, if you're not fit, please don't attemp this place, the climb was steep, and mosquito filled!

It was a nice place though, caught a chinese couple arguing near the waterfalls.

Next up, we detoured towards Datai Lama. We drove aimlessly, hoping to find something, when my phone rang, It seems I'm now connected to Thailand's Network.....

Anyway, we stopped by Andaman Hotel for a while. I felt like a foreigner there, all the guest were guai lous.

The beach was nothing to shout about, brown sands, no corals, nothing much, just a very grand Hotel.

After that, we headed to Kuah Town for dinner, we had a simple dinner, salted fish nasi lemak. By the way, Kuah town boast of cheap stuff, yeap the chocolates were cheap, clothes were cheap too, a little bit outdated, yet still cheap. Bought an England training UMBRO jersey for RM19!

We stopped by Langkawi Fair, nothing much really.

The next day, we booked a ticket for island hopping. We rode a high speed catamaran, to 3 locations.

First was Dayang Bunting, translated means, Pregnant Mermaid. It was named because of the landscape, looks like a pregnant lady. Someone in the boat commented;

"There's the boobs, and there's the tummy!!"

This island is famous for a lake in the middle of it. Well, the lake was huge, but nothing much, just a long walk towards it.
A nice indian couple helped us with this picture.

Next up, was eagle feeding. Nothing much once again.



The last location was nothing to shout about too, a swimming island I would say, no corals, no nothing, just tonnes of sand fly bitting all over your body!


Later that day, we decided to try out cable car again, WHOALA! It was open! Undoubtedly the best part of the Langkawi trip, besides the food, and the shopping, and the corn on my leg due to long hours on the shopping mall, yeap, cable car, loved it!





No need to comment, go and enjoy it for yourself! We stopped by Pantai Cenang in the evening for dinner. Parked our car somewhere and walked down the streets. Once again, it was filled with guai lous.

We stopped by a restaurant called "Ikan Bakar". To be frank, it is a highly recommended food stop, by "Jacob" and "Anne". We ordered a simple Nasi Goreng, and Grilled Baracuda Fillet, both taste GREAT!


Those shots are the view from the restaurant, yes it is a seaside restaurant, somewhere I wouldn't mind going back. Too bad, there were too many "visible" fishing boats a few miles offshore, or else it would have been prettier.

Langkawi

I'm soooo soooo excited now, for the first time in my life, I'll be heading to Langkawi! YAY!! WEEE!!!!!

So excited I forgot to pack, alright .. Checklist;

1. Camera
2. Camera charger
3. snorkel set
4. toothbrush
5. slippers
6. shirts
7. short pants
8. more pants
9. more shirts

That's about it I guess, it is only a 3 day 2 night stay. I've drafted out a schedule too, enjoy, eat, eat, enjoy, shop, enjoy, eat, eat and eat

Life's been hectic for me!

Can't really blog now because I'm still working, yeap already 12 midnight and still sitting down touching up some codes for the portal I built for a POC, yeah all that just for a POC.

Anyway, to keep my log going, here are some pictures of what I did the past month or so

Yeap I still cycled, quite a distance covered actually!
Do you see the little black car at the back? That's me. Very unlucky that day, not only I got the slowest car, I was blocked by dangerous drivers that swerved all around me. Anyway finished the race 4th, not bad eh?

Took a nice walk down to marina bay in PD. Enjoyable!

YAY!!

After 6 months of riding, my bicycle chain started to flex, causing my bike to vibrate when i pedal. Of course it is about time to change, so I bought a chain, at the same time, decided to change my tire.

Yeap, yellow color it is! Brand, Continental. Don't ask me why I choose it! Anyway, I had compliments from Uncle Vincent, and uncle Michael Ong, and Anne LOVES IT!

Which reminds me, yes, about my last ride to belakong and back. It was a good day, 10th January 2008, initial plan was to stop by Putrajaya through the new highway. We experienced the first major problem when, Michael Ong forgot to switch on his alarm, thus the plan to start at 7.30 got posponed till 8.30. By the way, this trip only involves 3 person, Uncle Vincent, Uncle Michael and me.

We started our journey from Anne's house, work our way to Sri Petaling petrol station to fill up my water bottle and to pump air. We paused for a while to figure out the route to take, and finally decided to try out a back way to Kuchai Lama, hoping to find a loop hole towards the main road.

Tough luck, couldn't find any! So we turn our attention towards Belakong side. The highway was nice, very flat, thus enabling us to travel at a very fast pace, 30 - 35 km/h. I hit 40 at one point, but couldn't let my comrads be left behind too far.

When we reach the belakong interchange, Michael looked tired, so we decided to stop there and turn back through Sri Kembangan way. Later felt it was a mistake, as there were many cars on the road, and Michael nearly ram into 1! hehe

From there, we cycled straight to the bicycle shop.

Later in the afternoon, Michael, Anne and I went to another bicycle shop, where I have already placed a booking for Anne.

Nice boh? a lady's specified bike, size "S", with basic gears and a cool frame!

A tribute to Johnathan, Elizabeth, and their Baby

This post is long overdue.

Since little Sarah is out, I would like to dedicate this to my dear friend, Johnathan and his family.

It all started a few years back, when our dear friend John (one of my cycling kaki) decided to go after a long time friend of mine, Elizabeth. Things worked out for them, and soon, their relationship blossomed to great heights.

At a tender age of 20, they tied the knot! My congratulations to all involve for expanding the Tan family! hahaha

I was invited to their wedding dinner at Pearl International hotel. The dinner was great! They planned their entry well, in short, everything went on smoothly, except the slight jitter on our MC for the day...

It is a first for most of us, baby Sarah decided to drop the bomb shell on 1st of January 2008! Right after the stroke of midnight! WHOA! NEW YEAR BABY WEI!!!!

Well, I've been buzzing around the internet, looking for some interesting stuff to do. Found out a website that likens friendster. It is called, Yuwie

I've personally used it for 2 days, and to be frank, it's pretty addictive, basically, your intention is to try and get as many people as possible to view your profile. BTW, you can view mine here

If that wasn't enough, I found another way of generating great traffic to your website. Its some marketing gizmo called T-2000. You can see the advertisement as below;

Christmas ride with Newbies

We had a short ride on Christmas day, total of 7 including me, blazed the motorbike lane of Kesas Highway. Joining the ride this time, Gavin (newbie), his wife, Sandy (newbie), Uncle Vincent, Uncle Michael, Daniel, Rachel and me. We covered a distance of 47km, thank God my meter worked this time, so the distance is accurate!

Started by waiting for Daniel and Rachel at 7am. We need to meet Gavin and his wife about 1.5 km away, in Sri Petaling, to tune their bike. They have just bought a LeRun Solaris from KSH the day before, and it seems that they had trouble with the brakes after fitting in the wheels. Well its more of inexperience than nothing.

Uncle Michael cycled from Summit, about 13km away, and met us on the way to Kesas from Gavin's house. We had a pretty slow ride, averaging 16kmh only. Gavin and wife ware very occupied with gear shifting, its a whole new dimension for them, having 21 gears at their disposal.

At the 14km mark(my meter), I decided to pull out my camera and take some shots of the group.

It took about 1 hour to reach Summit, that's pretty slow, but it was fun to have newbies joining us.

Took us some time, but we finally decide to continue to Shah Alam.

"No worries,"

I said,

"Got a lot of taxi on the way..."

The ride was routine, slow and steady. The weather was good, explains why the newbies could cope! The only complain they gave was,

"Backside pain la!"

Yeah, if you are new to cycling, aching butt is pretty normal. Anyway, we made another stop at a petrol Kiosk. This stop was particularly long, Uncle Michael took time to explain to Gavin and Sandy about the proper cycling position, so we spend time tuning their bike, the saddle height, techniques, and so forth.

After that, we journeyed home. Uncle Michael turned to home when we reach Summit, and the rest of us went ahead towards Bukit Jalil. We made a final stop at another petrol Kiosk. I made a sprint, so waited about 10 minutes for the rest to arrive.

While resting, Rachel noticed something funny;

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, if you're going to wear a helmet, please make sure there's enough padding.

Putrajaya, 12 December 2007

After a few weeks of layoff, cycling came to life again as a bunch of us, 8 to be exact, plunged in to a gruelling 90km ride to Putrajaya and back.

It started with only 7 of us, meeting point, Petronas station along Kesas highway. Our aim was to meet up with Uncle Michael in Summit before 8am, but delayed by Rachel's malfunctioning tire. Took us 1/2 hour to fix her front tire.

Michael(newbie), Samuel Chin(newbie) and me. The ride to Summit was a zip, fast and furious, unpaced paddling to make up for lost time. The newbie did well, considering what happened to Michael the last round he joined us (barely made up the 12km mark).

Once we touched down Summit, got lost looking for Uncle Michael's house, another 15 minutes wasted rounding the housing. But things started to flow when Uncle Michael lead us through Subang, connecting to the Puchong Highway that leads straight to Cyberjaya. The newbies were starting to struggle after the 20km mark, they were slow up the slopes. Of course me, being a nice guy (hehehe) encouraged them, waited for them, shouted for them to speed up, make sure they have enough fluid, and of course, rested while waiting for them (explains the energy level).

My cyclometer's reading was a little bit out that day, so the actual distance covered was a grey area. I reckon, the journey from Summit to Putrajaya was about 30km++. Upon touching down Putrajaya, Samuel encountered the first problem, his crank fell off. Though we tried fixing it, with an alankey and stone, the problem persisted, and it caused much delay to our schedule.

Nevertheless, we made it to Prescient 2, all of us.

Somehow, Daniel's camera phone made us look fat.

We loitered around for a while, and decided to head home.


What a bummer, Johnathan suffered a puncture. Thank God uncle Michael had the tools for a quick change of tube, using his Zefal CO2 inflator, he inflated the tube in less that 5 secs!! WHOA!!!

Anyway, Samuel's crank was really ticking uss off, so Daniel, Rachel and uncle michael went on home, while the rest stopped to help him.

Things got unbearable, so we stopped at a petrol kiosk before the Puchong toll for a break. Michael gobble down a hot dog bun and chocolates, while Johnathan and Samuel stopped a taxi to go home.

After that, it was another 20km cycle home. Michael Ong, uncle Vincent and I made it safely.

Quite a satisfying ride, considering the fact it was my first ride in a month, a little less than 90km in total! Great workout, and nice fellowship.

Auto Cleaner

Dad bought an Auto Cleaner the other day, didn't have time to blog or snap pictures about it.

Just a preview, it is a vacumm cleaner that moves around the house by itself, picking up small dust and particles. It will automatically return to its cradle once it runs out of power.

This is not a sad post

I've been quite busy last week, have been helping out Anne and her family, making sure the sitting and funeral services run smoothly. The first day was hectic, drafted in my parents, Daniel Lee, and my brothers to help clean their house.

Task included, buying drinks, sapu sampah, mop the floor, shift some furniture, prepare the guest tables, buy kacang and so on.

The sitting and funeral wasn't all sad, as we all found out that Uncle Congo has gone on to his great reward.

Took a timeout, headed to Putrajaya with Anne to collect Uncle Congo's death certificate. We saw an IC (identification card) reader and decided to check it out.

To our horror, the system encountered an error thus Anne's IC was stuck inside. We alerted the security guard who laughed at us, pushed a button at the back and ejected the IC. Though the system was corrected, I dare not try it anymore.

We spotted a nice bridge leading out from the government department, decided to follow that route.

The bridge is a beauty! Makes me wonder;

"What happen to bridges in KL??"
